Hi there

sorry it was not meant to cause histeria, i read the news on reuters

There are probably 20 - 50 reports on bird flu anyone could chose from every
single day

news.google.com can be set up to notify you

This was a poorly put together report of a hysterical nature that is doing
untold harm to businesses of all sizes throughout the world including where
there is not a trace of the virus.
Hence my responding to put it into some sort of context
There has been little demand here so far as I can see for each, all and
every AI news reports to be brought to the group
This one gave no important development which might be considered differently

and thought it might be usefull to point out this article to others,

It had little useful content in comparison to many others you might have
chosen that day/week
http://news.google.com/news?hl=en&ned=us&q=bird+flu
will give you 46,000 to choose from on "bird flu" alone

we
had birdflu (the other one) in our country in 2003,even had mass
culling of birds in our region.

Indeed - and it is a terrible thing
Hysteria does not help in any form
H5N1 is not as polite as the ones continental Europe has had
We are all going to get it to some extent or another
Hysteria will ensure its badly handled.
Cold logical dealing with each situation may mean that any culls are
geographically limited as much as possible

I don'tbreed for a living but for
preserving the breed. Does not matter the efford and years it has taken
to reach standard you will loss your birds evenso that's hard. I hope
this flu will pass by and die out somehow

Its been doing the rounds of the SE Asia countries for around 10 years and
is showing no signs of dying out
It is a Highly Pathogenic form unlike the Low Pathogenic form which passed
through parts of Europe.
It can be controlled as there are countries which have been successful at
this
Whether one has the luxury of not needing to make money from ones birds or
not - the time, effort, heartrending, and blood, sweat and tears are the same
as those for are not so lucky and have to combine their breeding aims with
earning a living from their land and livestock
