More on ducks

The recent thread on ducks was quite informative to me who is looking to
acquire some. I have lots of space, no neighbours and a big dam. But there
are predators (wild dogs, foxes, goannas and dingos). I have a very smart
and protective dog but he cannot be on duty all night every night. Is there
any way of keeping ducks safe other than shutting them in at night?
