You cant keep ducks and let them run free, unfortunately they will be
killed by predators:(
I always wanted my pet Aylesburys to roam free but after a fox got one
and injured another I have been very protective, you need to put up
electric fences and dig the main fence upto 12 inches undergorund to
stop them digging under.
A fox will take a free range non protected duck in broad daylight right
under your nose if you let them roam free.
I cant stress enough, its heartbreaking to try to nurse a savaged duck
back to fitness after a fox has been at them, by all means let them
roam, but have a bloody great 5000 volt electic fence up around them,
with an inner wire fence and put them away into a fox proof shed at
night.
They will eventually get attacked if you dont:(
Good luck, and look after your ducks - they are the nicest little
creatures you will know.
Quack Quack!
