Actually, it sounds like it'd be cheaper to just buy a moderately sized
flock of turkey poults, raise them to maturity and then sit outside the pen
and shoot them. Then again, hunting is never about saving money. I deer
hunted as a teenager. I quit pretty much the season I bagged my first and
only deer. It wasn't guilt, I eat meat and understand where it comes from
and it was a clean shot and instant kill. I just didn't get enough
gratification from the kill to justify sitting in a tree stand for 2 months
every year. Guys who really love hunt seem to enjoy the relaxing and doing
nothing out in the woods more than the actual achievement of the goal.

Spent most of the morning turkey hunting. Saw no turkeys, and got to
feeling bad because my puppy was probably ready to bust a gut, and came
home to find him in a flooded crate. I called in no turkeys, but peaked
the curiousity of 12 does wondering what I was doing. I've got about
$200 wrapped up in turkey hunting gear, $25 in a turkey tag, and will
probably spend about $200 in gas before I'm through in pursuit of
turkey. It would be cheaper to go to the store and buy one
.
