Hi, Ginny!
I don't know about anyone else's experience, but the birds I have now,
Khaki Campbell ducks, lay every day except for four weeks out of the
year. That's 336 eggs or so. And they are not purebred birds. I'm
working on getting the stray Mallard out of the bloodline. Thought I
was doing good last year when I hatched out only white eggs and kept
those birds. Unfortunately, all of those birds are now laying
blue/green eggs. But three are laying every day and one egg is just
barely colored.
I feed them a balanced layer pellet with a bit of grower thrown in and
let them roam as much as possible (which isn't much since they've taken
a liking to my neighbor's garden!).
I guess the parent stock was pretty good at the hatchery.
