Yes Australian in West Aust. The .uk thingy just happened when I got my addy.
And yes again, we have no rights. Can't even defend ourselves if someone breaks into our house with anything more than what the attacker has (eg if he has a stick I can use a stick but not a knife or a gun. Wacko law). On top of that a trespasser who injures himself, say breaks a leg by falling through a broken floorboard, can sue me for damages. I don't make the laws but I have to abide by them.
Seriously though, possessions aren't worth dying over, but it is the principle. Whatever happened to parents teaching their kids that if its not theirs don't touch it. I'll stop my rant now and climb back in my box. LOL
