I saw a commercial about an oil spill and the rescuers were using dawn to
wash the birds.
http://www.ibrrc.org/oil_affects.html
"Once stable, oiled birds go through a series of tub washes alternating
between baths with a one percent solution of Dawn dishwashing liquid and
clean water. The wash time varies depending on the amount of oil, and the
size of the bird, but on average it takes two people 45 minutes and 300
gallons of water to do a thorough washing."
Let us know how it all works out.
Good luck, Regena

Today I was changing my oil in my car when one of my three week old

suggestions?
Dishwashing liquid.....
And soon.
That crap is toxic and the bird is going to try to clean itself. :-(
this may sound silly, and perhaps it is.
But I remember my father sometimes coming home with oil on his clothes,
when I was still a child. My mum used to rub butter on it first, before
washing it, to sort of dissolve the oil in something oily that was
easier to wash out (if that makes sense)
