Stop, before you even consider having chicks, you need to do some serious
research in the form of reading books and searching for websites. It is
nigh
on impossible for any one person to give you a condensed version of how to
hatch eggs, manage broodies, care for chicks etc, here on usenet.
One of the things you need to think about is what you intend to do with
the
cockerels which hatch which nobody will want and which will in all
likelyhood be too small to make a meal of if the cockerel is as small as
you
say.
Learn how to care properly for the flock you have before you even think
about breeding.
Yes, I'd agree with that.
We've just hatched our first chicks after several years of having hens. It's
given us a lot of pleasure and fun but we'd have worried if we hadn't
learned something about the ways of poultry first - from our own experience
as well as others'.
Walk before you can run ...
