They are laying!

I started with one Rhode Island Red (that lays every other day) last fall.
Then I got 2 dozen little Black Australorps (all females) on Feb.1, that we
raised from day old chicks. This week we are getting our first eggs from
some of them. They are tiny though--like a banty egg. I guess they are
"practice eggs". How long does it take before they are regular sized eggs?
I really wasn't expecting ANY eggs until July, but here they are! :) Jane
