Our chicks

Well, the Croad Langshan bantam chicks, hatched by our Wyandotte bantam, are
now juvenile delinquents - big, brash, bumptious, bullying, belligerent,
scruffy with big feet. No doubt they'll grow into beautiful ... well, what?
We've been weighing them every two or three days. Two are markedly heavier
than the other. Those two are far scruffier, have bigger combs and more leg
feathering and are greedier, more pushy and tend to fight between
themselves. The third is gentler, has smoother plumage with a nice rounded
tail and always comes last when there's food around.
We reckon that the lighter one is a hen and the others potential soup.
Might we be right? We don't know how to s*x chickens ...
Mary
