Are you close enough to water for it to be a mink?
Coyotes will also enter a barn (I've caught them in mine) and they will
eat cats. it's one of their favorites. pups are just learning to hunt, so
this may be a female with pups.
Hi!
While we do have coyotes, this is definitely not their MO. I'd suspect
a very small dog first.
We do have occasional streams nearby, and the direction that the
feather trail followed was along a roadside ditch which meets up with
one of those streams only 300ft. from the house. We have never SEEN
mink or any of their family on our farm, but the house was sprayed by a
skunk one night last year. The emu also fights with skunks from time
to time, but I don't think one of those whould do this kind of damage.
How to trap one?
