well, killing of hawks anywhere in north america _IS_ illegal,
therefore cannot be recommended.
They are a very common protected species, as are all raptors.

My husband did some looking, and apparently we could possibly get a
permit to kill them. But for now I will simply work on keeping them
enclosed - both for my peace of mind and because *something* has to
eat all those extra squirrels!
