It's amazingly succulent.
And a simple BB gun (Crossman air rifle) works just fine.
Hmmm. I had always heard squirrel disparaged as a table meat. Anyway,
the point is moot for me since the DH would never countenance the
hunting and eating of squirrel and all non-fowl meat seems to disagree
with me these days anyway.

The last couple of squirrels I shot, I took the advice of a co-worker
and wetted them down well prior to skinning. That took care of the hair
shed issue on the meat.
I quartered them and fried them lightly in olive oil with a bit of lemon
pepper...... Reminded me seriously of squab!
I've been a avid squirrel eater ever since. The local population avoids
my yard now. <G>
I can actually grow tulips now! Squirrels are death on bulb gardens.
