And the eggs are far superior to those dodgy battery ones! I think the line
has to be drawn somewhere. I know someone who has tried vegan and it
literally controlled her life. She is now just a non-meat eater and is
happy with that. I'm am very fussy with my food anyway so if I became vegan
I'm sure I'd fade away to nothing! ;-)


I've rescued battery hens in the past. It's totally cool to watch birds
that have lived their entire lives in crowded cages suddenly become
"real chickens" in literally a matter of days. I even had some learn to
get up into trees.

They develop different characters and can become quite cheeky. I've found
the rescues to be more friendly - which is amazing after the way they are
treated - than the pure breeds I have. Most likely it's the breeding but I
like to think otherwise! ;-)
