Bare neck

I know this is a perennial but I haven't taken much notice to now :-(
I've been visiting Spouse in hospital after major surgery and caring for him
since discharge and apart from letting out the hens, collecting eggs and
closing the coops at night haven't seen much of them.
Yesterday we ventured into the garden and I saw that No 2 bantam has a bare
throat. I've seen No 1, boss hen, pecking out No 2's neck feathers and
eating them (No 2 stands and lets her!) but the neck looks sore and I
wondered if there was any way I can prevent this happening.
Everyone is healthy, they are laying well (almost one each a day) and have a
good balanced diet. No-one is moulting yet.
Mary
