When I was out feeding our chickens yesterday and I noticed that some
of our birds had some blood around their rump where it looked like
some of their tail feathers had been pulled out ( I am assuming from
the roosters mounting them). Upon closer inspection, I found that
some of them had tiny light brownish mites crawling all over them.
Does anyone know what these mites are and how I can get rid of them,
and are they harmful to the birds?
Yes you want to get rid of them, and yes they can harm the birds, but
without knowing where in the world you live its impossible to advise you
about medications - the rules and availability vary so much
