Hurrah! The girls have started to lay again. Safe to eat the first egg?

Almost 2 months ago, all 6 stopped laying, within a day of each other.
This morning, I have an egg! Hurrah! But is it safe to eat these "first
returning eggs". Is there a chance they could have been festering, partly
formed, in an oviduct somewhere?
PS - thanks to those that suggested it - a rabbit feeding syringe and half a
put of bio yogurt brought "small scared hen" back to health.
