So where is all this venom coming from? She just posted that she doesn't
even put it in the refrigerator and just lets it hang in a cool spot for a
few days but wouldn't do that if she didn't know the birds history and
handling. She didn't criticize you for where you got your bird and didn't
even make a veiled jab at you, much less an obvious one.
Just because someone has access to or interest in something you don't
doesn't mean they're being an elitist snot about it when they mention it.
You asked how long it could last. She gave an example from her experience
and warns that birds from other sources may not be safe to treat that way
and you assume she's trying to be superior because of where her bird came
from. That's a little off.
Some people seem to take their common man act too far (some to the point
where it ironically becomes a form of elitism). Please don't assume that
just because I buy my tea loose leaf, my coffee fair trade organic and my
beer from microbreweries that I think I'm better than you. Unfortunately I
often hide my gustatory interests from people who don't know me well for
fear of being treated like you just treated Mary. It's really annoying and
confusing to be treated as a snob when you weren't trying to be.
Jacob
