What type of ducks are they?

hi jill all i know that they are white ducks
im in birmingham and
im very sure i have male and female

How do you know this?

but i thought you cant eat a fertile egg

There is no problem eating fertile eggs -- nothing at all
They have an extra cell in them - thats all
Until they are raised to 98' they will not starting incubating

school teacher to;d me she will keep laying her eggs then when she
is ready she will sit on them

Sorry but your local teacher is ill-informed
Some ducks will only lay to sit - this would be more normal in the spring
when the survival of the offspring has more chance.
Even if your bird does sit, it would be best to collect the eggs up every
day so she does not hatch in the middle of the winter here.

But most ducks will lay and never sit.
If you have white ducks in the midlands its quite possible that they are
Cherry Valley 2000 which are a production hybrid.
If they are I would be surprised if she sat to be honest - its not a strong
trait. But she will lay lots and lots and lots if she is -- the fact that
she is laying so early in the winter supports this but its also been a
strange autumn and winter so far around the country so that may have
triggered an earlier than expected lay

i have 5 eggs now. so i can egg these
eggs then becauce i am a bit worried if she startes sitting on them
as i dont want baby ducks everywhere so to stop her would i have to
just keep taking them away or eating them thanks from lisa.

Yup -- just remove what she lays every day, label them with a pencil with
the date and use them in your Christmas baking
I like to use Duck eggs within 2 weeks.

Enjoy

-- thanks for your help from lisa.
