For two chickens
I am converting a unused pitched dog kennel for chickens its 950Lmm X
600WmmX 850Hmm the whole of the roof is hinged for access for cleaning/egg
collection. There is nothing in the house, under the left & right side of the
overlapping roof is about a 10mm gap which runs down the full length of the
house i am going to leave this for ventilation. How high do you have the
roosting bar?I was going to make a nesting box which sits inside the house
,what dimensions should this be?should the nesting box have a roof as i
think they like to lay in the dark/this can help to prevent the hens eating
the eggs?Or i could fix the nesting box to the outside of the house?
I havent decided wether to fix the run onto the front of the house or to
make a pen and put the house in this area, the run or pen will have a 16mm
bronze polycarbonate roof which i have left over from another project!
I will probably have other Q,but these will do for now!
Thanks Keith
