Not particularly well as far as I have heard

I used beak bits some years ago, worked very well against feather pecking
and prevented egg eating too.

STockholm tar is still the most effective method - but mucky for the
victims

I wouldn't consider Stockholm tar as a first resort. Old fashioned. Covers
the feathers in what is like thick black Vaseline. Gets all over everything
too.
