Does anyone have a reference for how sex linked genes work in
chickens, especially barring? I have been searching but have not
found anything useful.
Thanks;

There is a genetics board on The Coop Classroom

If you have a specific question and Krys is still lurking here she was
brilliant at explaining colour genetics.
There is a book -- Genetics of the Fowl by Hutt which you might be able to
get out of the library -- ooohh oohh - I ahve just found it here

There is http://marsa_sellers.tripod.com/geneticspages/page0.html
have fun!!
Thanks for this, Jill!
It seems that after looking at this that my black chicks are more than
likely female and will be roughly barred rocks at maturity. I have not been
able to draw any conclusions about the white chick with black flecks, as I
have not been able to discover anything that sounds like this.
Still, it's really cool :-)
