I love my peafowl, and they free range my property. yes they love to
sit on the deck and watch the people in the house. Yes they roost on
the truck, but then a farmer shouldn't keep a truck in such pristine
condition that they are bothered by a few scratches. Besides, the money
spent of truck payments could be better spent on improvements around the
farm. The only thing bothersome about the peas is that they can be
noisy during breeding season, and they will raise an alarm virtually any
time of the day or night if something bothers them. Even that is
something you get used to. They fly up on the roof of the house and
knock on the bedroom window if you fail to wake up at around 5 AM to
throw them some catfood, but other than that they are truly magnificent
birds.
I am going to have to rethink this since Jill said they eat EVERYTHING,
and are such early risers. I don't wake up until 6 AM myself, and I
have enough trouble keeping my duckies out the cabbage!
