Sorry to hear about your losses. Geese are such wonderful birds. The yotes have been acting up here in southern indiana/illinois lately too. A friend of mine has had them in his yard lately and has even had them lunge at him. A local vet told him that the yotes seem to getting less fearful of humans and are getting more aggressive, probably because of the numbers of people who are now building homes in rural areas.
I have had losses too, and have to keep a very close eye on my birds when they are out. I am lucky though that several of my neighbors are AVID coyote hunters and they keep their numbers down. But just last month the yotes got onto the porch of my closest neighbor and snatched three young kittens (at least they assume it was coyotes).
