One of my little hens went blind (don't know the cause) and she was my
best layer, rarely ever missed a day. I put her in her own chicken
tractor with her own rooster who was extremely patient and attentive.
She was able to find her food bin and water and her rooster very
patiently clucked and pick up and put down ther large treats that I
gave her, and she got real close to his beak and just followed it
down to the treat. She was a very impressive little hen,
inspirational really. She never gave up.

Bless her-- maybe its similar observations as this that instigated the
research but breeding for blindness on purpose enmasse unsettles me I have
to admit.
