Hi, All!
I was looking for something in the archives and the numbers did not
add up. I know that our group was started before what Google shows.
What year?

And where did the OLD archives go?
Google has them..... at least the beginning and the end. I have no idea if they are actually complete.
Where can I find the
old archives?
Any takers?
One think it keep in mind about these USENET group is that the method of propagation used basically means that there will never be a truly complete and unabridged archive. All it takes is for one of the high level USENET servers to not communicate with another for a time and those post that are supposed to feed around USENET simple never get propagated. There is no real mechanism to create an archive because the system does not have a single point through which ALL posts go. DEJA was at one point the top level server. And I assume that google is now. But if say the top level European server does not talk with the Google server for an extended period then the post will be only ever distributed to Europe.
