were aggressive. You had only to compare the way the new birds are and
the way the black rocks were - a world of difference.
They are not tolerant of confinement - I completely agreeAgain, these were bought from SPR just like our friends birds which
were in far more confined conditions than ours. They were fine. As far
as our friends and us could discern the only difference (aside from
the fact ours had more room) was that we bought ours some time after
they had purchased theirs (months).
I simply have to disagree with that statement. It makes perfect senseSeems to make sense and would explain why our chooks acted soNo - it does not at all.
different from the black rocks our friends had (bought very far appart
time wise).
to me and has analogies elsewhere. Given what I have said already -
why doesn't it make sense to you?
Every single Black Rock is bred by the same person. Peter Siddons in KinrossSo, what are you saying - SPR lied when they told us they were selling
HOWEVER -- it is perfectly possible that you may have not been sold Black
Rocks.
us Black Rocks? In ealier posts you rated SPR highly?
There are many who try, and fail, to emulate Peter's breeding and sell birdsAgain a pretty damning statement about SPRs reputation if that is what
as Black Rocks which are not.
you are suggesting? However, you have already said all black rocks are
bred by Peter in Kinross; either they are or they are not.
Perhaps something breeders and suppliers should discuss with their
customers are the conditions they are intending to keep the birds in?
We bought our birds from SPR. If Black Rocks are known not to be
tolerant of confinement then should people like SPR not warn new
customers that they should consider another breed?
That said SPRs email said they should be fine in the conditions in
which we were keeping them. All we had to do was feed them mash (we
do). So he obviously feels they should cope with confinement!?
