hi again
oh so you can stop drakes from bein aggressive ?
Starting young and making sure they never learn to be aggressive.
Birds are not allowed to attack, or to bite,
They are handled firmly but gently if they even think about it.
Never breeding from aggressive birds has given us a flock with few
problems now.
I've kept ducks (swore I would never have any more, they draw foxes in) but
I have found myself with a large Muscovy drake (rescue) I call him Francis
(Drake)
He is not aggressive at all, he is a darling, but if he was I would pick him
up as often as I could, walk around with him for 5 minutes in my arms,
stroking him all the time (which he would hate if he was aggressive)
It's all about who is most dominant. With my poultry it is me ;-)
I've never had an aggressive drake. If I did he would be introduced to my
wellington boot the first time he tried it.
Actually I didn't even know that drakes *could* be aggressive towards
people. Mine have always seemed to know that it's a bad idea.
