Hi Ginny,
I wish we had winter and spring, as we have had so little rain, and last night Mr Frost took away my pumpkin and tomato seedlings. So we go into summer too too dry again...I wondered if I was being ambitious and I need wonder no more.... Plan B in the works.
Yes it has been dry over there (I have family in the Dandenongs) so hope you get some spring rains soon.
I reckon the girls might just be ageing. They have not deteriorated and seem fine really apart from the swelling. All the chooks moulted at the beginning of winter when the weather chilled so I doubt it's moulting.... I reckon they eat well enough, I give them a whole grain mash mix from a local supplier as well as the layer pellets. They don't eat too many kitchen scraps as there is only two of us and we don't generate much, and they get out for a range a few hours each day. Their yard is nice and big and they are on a good deep rice hulls litter in the shed...
Sounds like they are well looked after for matronly old chooks. LOL
Every day or so they get
a visit from Mr Joe Blake (Brown) who helps keep the mice down and keep my heart in working order... I reckon their life is almost as good as mine.
Ahh you don't get tigers? I remember them and the blacks from my childhood. Made one very nimble and watchful around the garden.
Hope yours is as pleasant
Cheers
SyrianPrince
Thanks
