Summer is here

Well summer has arrived with a vengeance. It is 45.3°C on my East verandah, hotter on the North and West and just scorching in the sun. My poor hens and ducks don't know what to do to cool down. They are out in the garden digging the deepest holes in the dampest spots but it is just too hot. I thought of putting on a trickle but the water in all the pipes is boiling so they will have to make do with the damp soil and the baby bath of water under the mulberry. The newly hatched ducklings and GF are in the house so getting some cool from the aircon. but it is battling against the heat. Looks like thunderstorms are building so just our luck we'll get a fire as well.

Now for me to find a cool place...
