You would think Jill if someone has posted they would return to read
so a quick thankyou response wouldn`t hurt would it.
Also if you have answered someone`s post it is nice to know they
have read it and solved their problem.

Its also that almost EVERY question brings up more questions -- whether its to clarify a situation so folks - whereever they are - can help more, be more precise, develop the answer
or its because people here are interested in things feathers and fowl and would like to hear more.

But yeah -- for everyone who answers here -- a thank you is appreciated.

Weeee-ellllllllll.........

After what Jill said about diet a few weeks back I improved the quality of my chooks' diet: more mash/pellets, less wheat. And what's happened? They are laying fewer and fewer eggs! What's more I found a sneaky nest out in the outdoor run a.k.a. adventure playground under some tree prunings with a gunnera leaf that has dried over the top making a little tent. Seven eggs, from two perhaps 3 different hens. Gratitude? They don't know the meaning of the word.

I blame you, Jill!
:-)

It seems like mine are a treat 'em mean, keep 'em keen bunch. Probably being thrashed once a week with a whippy stick would do them a power of good, then bed without supper.

It could also be down to the age of the girls. My original ones were about 2 - 4 years old. The adopted ones, there was one pullet that I could see grow to adulthood after I got her, the others are an assortment of goodness-knows.
