You say all eggs are susceptible to bacteria attack and imply the problem is in the way your customers look after their eggs.

You imply I have customers, I don't, I'm just a very satisfied customer of the breeder you are trying to make out to be so bad, when in actual fact he's the best I've come across.

Oh well, Apologies if I've got it wrong but you do sound awfully like Chirpy - ie inability to understand and/or accept that the results we have are statistically significant. There is a statisticaly significant difference between hatching results for Chirpy-Chicks Barred Rock eggs and the other batches we know of. Statistically significant means it is not down to bad luck or chance. I don't know what it is down to. If you/Chirpy is inclined to be rude, arrogant and insulting perhaps you have made enemies in the local post office who routinely bounce the boxes posted - but it seems more likely that it is simply down to shell quality. Age of hen may also be a factor.

I see this all to often on the internet, and the net result is that the best breeders will end up refusing to sell eggs or stock to anyone, so all you'll end up with is the real bad guys who don't care, and no access to good stock.

The best breeders would recognise a statistically significant difference in their eggs as compared with others. Actually Chirpy does - he emailed me on the 17th admitting this but has since denied doing so.

(see below)

I suppose you/he does not want to admit the problem as if he does then the decent thing to do would be to send out a lot of expensive refunds. It is a very good listing - with nice photos - and the eggs were going for well over £30 or £40 early on and I've seen no evidence that anyone got results they were pleased with.

I am not speculating about the breeder, I'm speaking for experience, which is all any normal person would do. I hatched just 4 weeks ago 9 from 12 eggs from this very same breeder and the very same breed, but this group doesn't want to hear that, as it's obviously just a lynching mob!

You may have done or you may be Chirpy. If you did, then can you explain why Chirpy wrote to me on the 17th saying:

> I didn't list them this week, as I have a customer that ordered 18
> eggs for delivery this Tuesday that paid for them back in December -
> however, due to these complaints I can assure you I will not be
> listing them again, until I can ascertain what the problem has been.

Does he or does he not admit he has a problem??

Are you suggesting that the eggs are OK UNLESS posted?? ie that that posting knocks their hatchability down far more than it does with other Ebay eggs?? That sounds possible. Jill???

What did the 12 eggs you talk of look like?? What sort of size were they?? Did you weigh them?? Any photos??

I could write here all the bad reports I've heard about Kintaline poultry, but I'm old enough and wise enough to know that when people have a problem they try to make out the other party is some kind of dirty dealer, all in order to make themselves feel better and reap some kind of revenge.

How cynical. What part of the country are you from?

Bon voyage
