ditto on the organo-phosphates but if you really want to use it the active ingredient is malathion which is known as Maldison in NZ
It's not like it's a joists and dwangs set of rectangles framework with cladding on top, purpose built as a chook house. This was made ultra strong with 2 layers in places either in the first place to withstand handling during shipping , or later to re-clad it. Then there are the places where I patched it up to turn it into a secure henhouse again...
That said there is one wall, the one that supports the covered run, that seems OK to retain, just as well because for some time the only indoor house will be the covered run with temp perches and nest boxes added.
What do you think about the use of Maldison for treating the remaining woodwork, Jill? These little sods need the heavy artillery, and while I'm not happy about using strong poisons around livestock or myself I'm not constrained by eco-greeny ideology. I'm looking for the raw guts of the matter - what works best, fastest, without repeating frequently for the rest of my life.
