does is fitting them with a "beak bit" it's a plastic device that fits
on their beak and it's rounded so if they peck an egg it will not break.
They are certainly worth a try.
But, again, there are examples of birds who get around them.
Mine never did. I can't say I like using them much though but it's
pointless to feed chickens who eat their eggs unless you are fond of
spending a lot of money on layers pellets for no return at all.
Too right.
Bits are most used for feather pecking which is a stressor that can equally
result in low productivity, so poor returns for input.
