Oh, he gets noticed alright. Folks with even a modicum of understanding
'notice' him right into their bit buckets. But my point (and you wise-akers
knew that) was that 'most people' lack this ~modicum of understanding~.
How the hell else do you get Phil's 61%? Along comes Marco and says
that since robust apiths and gorillas share a sagittal crest, they must be
related or that big Neanderthal schnoz *could* function as a snorkel so
all that other wet stuff must make sense. You or I or a handful of others
in this NG run shrieking from the room but Phil's 61 percenters scratch
their heads and wonder what all the fuss was about. Next thing you know,
they're slapping warning labels on science books. Fat lot of good our
shrieking did, eh?
