But, Marc, do we *know* that chimps
can't? We know that they don't. I don't
know how it is in Dutch but in English
the distinction between "can't" and "don't"
is a major one. Both chimps and humans
are exceedingly well known mammals as
regards physiology and anatomy. If there
is a phys/anat reason why a chimp could
not dive in the same manner and degree as
a human what is it? You go on forever about
comparative anatomy but never get
around to actually doing any. Here's your
chance to break new ground. Why can't a
chimp dive? Answer this and you are on the
way to establishing some feature in the phys/anat
of humans that requires explanation beyond
an, at this point, entirely sufficient reference
to human cultural behaviour. You up to it?
