Animals that rely on aquatics have adaptations for them, we do not.

Swimming and diving are aquatic adaptations by definition.

Don't be silly, one doesn't need good olfaction to hunt on the savanna.

So do hippos, but we aren't hippos.

Oh, you admit that we only have "moderate diving skills"? We have the
best running skills, since we can outrun any animal in the long run.

Donald Mitchell (cited in Quarry by Noel Boas):
"He showed that even the slowest human runners could, with even a
slight head start, outrun lions, cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, and wild
dogs, not by speed, but by out distancing them."

This proves we are savanna adapted, no diving required in our ancestry.

Cite your source.

We shouldn't. Early Homo stayed on dry ground.

We run better than we dive, this proves more time on savanna than in
the water.

"He showed that even the slowest human runners could, with even a
slight head start, outrun lions, cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, and wild
dogs, not by speed, but by out distancing them."
