There are dry seasons in most forests. The
extent and severity of dry seasons is highly
variable. One of the few things we can say
about hominid evolutions is that it did not
occur in a habitat where either the severity
or the extent of the dry-season was marked.
Humans are very badly adapted for such
conditions.

Climatology is one of those fields where
a lot goes on, but there is minimal
understanding. No one can tell us even
the most basic information -- for which
we'd be prepared to pay billions of
dollars. If you knew that this winter was
going to be either severe or mild, you
could make a fortune on oil and gas
futures. But no one does. No one can
even accurately predict the path of a
hurricane over the next few days.
They are all guessing.

Such a field is therefore wide open to
pompous pretentious (but totally
ignorant) bullshitters, of which you are
a prime example. You cannot tell us
anything about the weather in the next
few weeks. But you know all that there
is to know about it 8 mya.

Give us a break.
