Good point, Su!

I don't really care when reproduction started, as long as it is ASAP,
these little bipedal apes are going to have to speed up their
reproduction cycle to be able to survive in the overwhelming savanna/
woodland/ swampland/ forests on East Africa.

If the kids are going to play anyway, why not have them gang up on
little antelopes or fenric or mongoose or whatever is available! Some
of these would need adult supervision, others would not. Kids are the
leading edge of innovation, maybe they started this whole hunter thing
themselves, they got tired of digging out those dang termites & waiting
for the maggots!!
