"Results suggest that our medieval ancestors had more prominent faces and
smaller cranial vaults than modern man."

There was no snow, at that time, in Europe. When snow first started
to fall, painters had problem to paint it. Because they didn't know how to
paint snow. At least this is what I heard.
If those times where warmer, than it isn't strange that we had more
prominent faces and smaller brains. It is in tune whit what I am saying all
the time.
Skin color depends on how much sunlight skin gets. Closer to
equator, darker the skin. But, sunlight reflects from snowy surface, as
well.
On Earth air is moving eastward (from west to east). When it comes
to western sides of continets, it traveled from ocean. Ocean is heat
accumulator. After it reaches land it cools off. So, it is colder until it
reaches east sides of continents. So continents are warnmer on their western
sides. That means less chance of snow on west sides. So, people are whitest
on west sides of continents, the norther they are (until they reach as north
where there is snow, where snow reflection darkens skin again). But more
eastward this isn't so, because snow reflection plays a part.
How coldness affect head shape? It roundens head, and makes face
less protruding.
And really, this is how it is. We have dark people with elongeted
faces in Africa. We have white people with elongeted faces on west side of
EuroAsia. We have darker people with round faces on east side of EuroAsia.
And, if size of brain (which I am also claiming) is in relation to
temperature, then colder it is, bigger brain will be. -- Mario
