With Toumai known to be a biped, and the chimp/human lines splitting
later,
it might be that bipedalism developed more than once.
That makes at least two of use that have said that. In fact thousands may
have wondered. Sorting this out may be very hard to do.
out (which is consistent with the fossil record... a buncha' hominids on
earth at the same time that may not be related). but.. it seems that at
least one or two other species would have retained bipedalism if it proves
to be such a huge selective advantage.
