` What we have accomplished in those thousands of generations was made
` possible by the transformation of the brain. Something happened within
` the brain
` that catapulted modern man into being the creative genius that he
` became. For a hundred thousand years modern man did not do much of
` anything then suddenly 50 thousand years ago for some reason he began
` creating - what happened? Was this transformation a phase of a
` natural evolution or was it a revolutionary creation?
` (Maybe the bible is not so far off. Adam and Eve may represent the
` first imaginative modern humans. They were created thousands of years
` ago, not millions of years ago, when they received a creative
` imagination.)

The last major change in neurophysiology happened more than 100kya,
probably 150kya, as it affected the entire species, and they've
been split up into groups without contact for most of that intervening
time. What has happened everywhere during that time is the increased
accumulation of cultural knowledge that the prior change to our
brains has allowed. It took tens of thousands of years to build
up to the point that it started to have effects that left traces
we can find. Note, by the way, that the earliest indications of
artwork associated with AMH is dated ~70kya in southern africa.
