The only thing a chimp can do successfully with a rock or stick is collective threat displays.
You seem to have picked up some very bad
ideas from a notorious fool who regularly
posts here called 'Jim McGinn'. Of course,
that may not be his real name.
Observation of chimpanzees proves this.
Quote some, or refer to sources.
On the contrary, you will find numerous
references in the literature to the effective
use of clubs and stones by many chimps.
There is the famous experiment by Kortland
who left sticks lying near a dummy leopard.
Both Goodall and Franz de Waal record the
use of stones, in fighting and for throwing.
If one is to theorize the ape to hominid transition involving the throwing of stones and
wielding of sticks sticks then they really only have one option with respect to the associated
behavior: collective threat displays. The evidence dictates this assumption. And evidence is
king.
It's a shame that you haven't got any.
Paul.
