...We would like to stress our point of view here: as we wrote above,
we are discussing about the possibility of paraphyly of hominids,
but not of all apes - this means, we did not include Marc's theories
in our theoretical framework.

No theories, but a hypothesis primarily based on uniquely derived features
between OT1H E.Afr.apiths & gorillas, and OTOH S.Afr.apiths & chimps, see my
Hum.Evol.papers
http://allserv.rug.ac.be/~mvaneech/Fil/Verhaegen_Human_Evolution.html .
IMO it's possible to test this hypothesis by comparing the specific patterns
of odontoglyphs (wrinkling on cheektooth occlusal surfaces) of apiths with
living hominoids.
And I have little doubt that if apith DNA could be isolated, that of
afarensis-aethiopicus-boisei resembled that of G much more than that of H =
P (cf.G>HP>Po), and that of africanus-robustus that of P more than H & much
more than G (cf.P>H>G>Po).

In any case, whether you follow my proposed tree or not, "Australopithecus"
& even more so "Paranthropus" are no doubt paraphyletic.
