Out of Africa is too simple. An individual can only have one mother,
but may have more than one Y chromosome donor.
Some hominids are thus hybrids with Neanderthal and Erectus.
The Inuit have lived in the arctic for 20ky without significant loss
of melanin.
Melanin is a hormone, and while the dynamics are not well undestood,
as the melanin level goes up in a gene pool so does the average
adrenalin level, and as a consequence of that, so does the level of
violence.
In the termperate zone of Asia & Europe, the necessity to stay inside
out of the winter demanded lower levels of violence which resulted
from cabin fever. This affected the melanin variety and level.
