Doughboy, rare relative to what? Saying "rare" does not negate the
fact that Homo was making tools on the savanna

Of course, what had you thought?? Why couldn't some hominids live near
rivers there?? Ostriches, tortoises, and antelope are savanna creatures and
Homo was right there with them, right in the riverbank, proven by the tools.
Was each tool made and the maker then died from a lack of salt? No matter
how "rare" salt was, Homo survived next to rivers & swamps in the savanna.
Some even claim the waterside archaeological record is continuous. Arm-chair
theory like the savanna view does not trump comparative evidence.
