What's the matter DD, too stupid to remember you own first name, how

Maybe you just don't want folks back home to recognize you for the

Here we go again. Yakity-yakity-yakity-yak.

What an utterly pointless newsgroup.

What an utterly pointless set of posters.

Unbelievably infantile, isn't it?
Bigger ego's than brains I guess.

For what it's worth, I thought I would interject this
tidbit from the Washington Post this morning --from
an article about Columbia U's treatment of the
President of Iran "Enough Said? Probably Not", WP
Sept. 30:

"...Bollinger, a Washington Post Co. board member who
once clerked for Chief Justice Warren E. Burger, said
his comments reflect his belief that, in extreme cases,
it is important to express not only intellectual opposition,
but also emotional revulsion. "

If Bollinger, CU's president, has a point, it might be
appropriate to apply it here. Readers of this group know
what kind of pseudo-science is promoted by Marco et al
and have seen how repeated attempts to gently enlighten
and persuade have fallen on deaf ears. Marco hasn't only
insulted everyone's intelligence in the rudest manner
possible but has brought with him a whole troop of
jabbering sycophants eager to add to the chorus. Further,
he has provided precedent and encouragement for similarly
deluded and anti-science ruffians --Crowley's Apith dogs and
Mario's cliff-hanging hominids. Now, we're up to our ears in
the kind of trash that should make even the most moderately
educated non-scientist giggle.

So I don't blame Olson for his response. It is unfortunate that
the level of discourse in this group has sunk to such schoolyard
shenanigans but I'm not confused about around whose feet it
should be laid.

A few more appearances from you, Gerrit, would be greatly
appreciated but I can well imagine that you've got better things
to do. I've seen you soundly "correct" Marco with a calm and
seemingly effortless few well-worded and clearly referenced
paragraphs. It is a thing of beauty and as such is a joy forever.

Don't be too hard on Olson. He is sickened by it (poor fella) and
since he is, we know that his brain works.

Gerrit
