The role of women in culture

It's often thought that women had a passive role into the origins of
culture and that a male dominated society would have relied on male
kinship for this.

New publications reveal that it was female kinship that triggered brain
development and socio-political organization amongst the first
primates, bringing into light a cooperation of both sexes into the
development of culture.
