Dear Friends,
this weekend I saw a French TV documentary on Portuguese television, an
amazing story about one of the last unspoilt tribes in the world, the
Jarawas in the Andaman Sea islands.
This fantastic documentary stated their population as 27 with only one
fertile couple, i.e. on the brink of extinction.
Can you tell me if they have survived the Tsunami of last December 26th
? Andaman islands were so close to the eipcentre.... Or were their
environmental and living conditions worsened by the
huges waves ?
I really became interested with this small group of natives, I only
wish they could be saved, better be left alone in their
hunter-gathererer Stone Age-like conditions.
many thanks
