***. ***. Bitch, Whore. Yup, it's profanity - but judging people that
use it in casual chit chat is not too wise. I've known genius professors
that cursed like sailors on their own time. And the roots of those words?
Not profane at all. I notice that most profane words in English are
sexual
words. In my native language, this is not the case. Calling a person
"poison, plague, infection" those are really bad curses. So then, you can
tell what we think is "very bad" by hearing our curses. And I can tell
what
Europeans think is "very bad" by hearing their curses. Too bad Europeans
think those things are bad! They're not bad at all. So. The next time
someone says "*** you," throw them a kiss and smile big.

Curse words reveal what is considered bad or undesirable to a people. In
Germany, we don't have many curse words with sexual background (and if, they
mostly derived from English curses, like "***").
German curse words usually are referring to dirt and excrements. One of the
strongest pejoratives we have is "Drecksau" which is literally "dirty sow"
(for both genders!).
Sexual connotation of curse words seems to be a specific American thing.
